Back to the grind

SO this evening marks the end of the two weeks of 'at home' holidays.

I HATE this feeling. The night before the first day back at work. That sinking dreading feeling in my stomach that very soon life will be SO hectic that you can hardly stand it. I just couldn't motivate myself to do anything today. It all started out well. Got the kitchen clean and started to fold up the washing BUT as the day wore on and the realisation that these were the last few 'free' hours, I just couldn't do anything. But sit on the internet and watch budgeting videos on YouTube. :-) Funny I know.

Now I will need to do some planning for tomorrow or I am going to REGRET it. A classroom of Kindy kids and nothing to do is not a nice thing. This is one of those days where you just wish you could have it all, time, money, love etc etc. All without trying.  SO I must remind myself that if I didn't work then holidays wouldn't be holidays, it would be .....well everyday, at home, and boy I KNOW I can't do that. I'd love SOME time at home though. Full time working mum of three boys and a husband that works 5.30 - 7.30, WELLLLLL gets a bit old sometimes.

Enough of my whining though, one must really pick oneself up and well, go and cook dinner I guess. So although I endeavour to be here at least once a week don't be surprised if I'm not. Although I still have that dress to post..........

Two in one day!!!

So I know you are wondering if I made it with the sewing project. Ahemmm....no. Valient effort I must say. In between cooking chicken soup and interruptions from a certain Master S, it just didn't happen. Going to have to go with option number two. Grandma look alike. I told my sister my backup was nice however it made me look like mum. Not that thats bad but who wants to be mistaken for their mum.
Mum's recipe, Chicken Soup. Master C loves this stuff and asked if there was leftovers for breakfast.

This is the reason I was continuously interrupted.

This kid melts my heart. He is going to be so naughty because he only has to smile and joke and he's back in the good books. (Yes he has no clothes on. My kids never have clothes on much to everyone's dismay. I am flat out getting them dressed to go to town!)

AND this is where I got to with the sewing. Still going to make it. I'll wear it to work although I will have to wait till next summer. What a nice surprise that will be :-)

So two posts in one day. Maybe a record although probably not. It'll make up for the ones I am bound to miss.

Procrastination

SOOOOOO..... I know you are wondering how my sewing project is going. Weeellllllll, short story, Its not. For no other reason than I am the BEST procrastinator!
I have put it down to the fact that work well to a deadline........a last minute deadline. I was well known for it at uni and still to this day work well at the last minute. Its not that I enjoy that last minute rush or feeling of 'Oh crap'. Its just, thats how it all works out.

SO today is Friday and the wedding is tomorrow. I have a 'back up plan' if I don't get this dress made OR if it doesn't work. Either is possible. So just a quick one today and I am off to cut out a pattern (don't laugh! I haven't even done that!)

Regards,
xx

Just as a post script..... I was just looking at older posts from this blog and my other, earlier, one (I KNOW, I should be sewing!!) and I really should keep my blog up to date. There are so many little things I have documented that I just looked at and thought awwww thats so cute and I don't remember them doing that. AND others that seem like about a year ago that are really, like THREE!!
SO I should keep this up to date for my sake but also for the kids to look at themselves when they were little too. xx

Holidays............. and another new start :-)

Aaaahhhhh holidays.............. time when I can breath and relax.

Time to also remember that I have a blog which I really should post on. :-0

I quick glance to the page alerts me to the fact that I have not posted since July 2011!!! There ARE reasons (the warning of my last post that my computer was dying being one of them) however it would be too boring and less interesting to discuss them. Lets just say 'life issues', a new job and time constraints have all contributed. Later (in life) I may just get into them BUT for now lets just carry on like I haven't been 'missing in action' for the last (nearly) 2 years :-)

I guess though I had better update on the family.

I have no idea WHAT I called the kids previously, however as with all new adventures lets just start fresh. Master J is now 7, Master C is now 6 and the 'baby' (yes people, including Dear Hubby, keep telling me to stop calling him that!!) Master S is now 3.
Time moves fast in a house of 3 (4 counting Hubby!) males. Week days are a blur of school and sports. They are great boys and they make me laugh all the time.

Hubby has changed jobs a couple of times in the last few years but is currently in an aviation job which is SO up his alley!! The start has been a bit rocky but Im sure he'll work it out. He just LOVES the industry so I think his determination will help him settle into a great routine.

But enough on that for now.

So what am I currently doing???? thinking???? feeling???? Lots and nothing :-) Work during the term time is SO hectic and busy I don't think I think or feel. Sometimes (most the time!!??!!!) I think I would like to not work and achieve all the things I want to on a daily basis, sustainable backyard garden, craft, sew, cook etc. Do HALF of the things I pin on Pinterest :-) BUT I do love teaching and would probably miss it after the first month or so.

Which brings me back to HOLIDAYS!!!

This is when I try to do some of the things I want. We are currently on the first day of two weeks of holidays and I have so many things I want to do. LOTS of things for work but most pressing is a wedding this week-end which I am planning on making a dress to wear to. Yes you read right. It is Monday, four days to the wedding and I am 'planning' on making a dress??? SO instead of blogging more, I think I had best go and cut out that pattern (I KNOW!! Go cut out the pattern!!!!) I think I will post the details over at six candles (my blog with my big sis) BUT don't worry about going over till I do. Although there is a more recent post (October 5 2012) from her, thats pretty much it. Must get onto that one as well.

Just remembered I was going to post about Genetically Modified Food, which I have been reading about lately. Scarey stuff!! Will post on that later.

Regards,
xx

(Note to self: PHOTOS MUST BE TAKEN TO POST. Sorry for the lack thereof in this post)

Favourites

Ok so my computer is having a TOTAL spaz and I think that its going to have to be wiped. The only way I could think to save all my favourites was to post them here. Now you can share in the love.

Reusable Shopping Bag

So to continue from the reusable shopping tote, I found this one that is insulated. Good idea too.

Resusable Shopping Bags

Today I found these really cute shopping bags but as Sandra says they can be used for anything.

Definitly on the 'to make' list BUT as I was looking around her excellent blog I found these!!!

rolled flower jewelry tutorial

Which I have been looking for for weeks!! Found a few sources (I think I mentioned them before) but these are exactly what I have been looking for. VERY CUTE!!

So for now they will go on the 'to sew' list but I am very keen. I am thinking that I am going to have to find another way to find all these useful blogs that I am putting in my favourites. I am now up to about 2 and a half pages. I also think that soon they will be wiping my computer and I am going to end up losing them all!!

mmmmmmmmmm........... what to do.
